AWA is a proud sponsor of Dress for Success of Memphis. The mission of Dress for Success is to advance low-income women's economic and social development and to encourage self-sufficiency through career development and employment retention. Dress for Success responds to the needs of our communities by providing programs that help economically disadvantaged women acquire jobs, retain their new positions and succeed in the mainstream workplace. Dress for Success is a not-for-profit organization that offers services to help our clients enter the workforce and stay employed. Each Dress for Success client receives one suit when she has a job interview and a week's worth of separates when she gets the job. The Professional Women's Group program then provides ongoing support to help the client build a successful career.

Oselen, Life Coach, President/CEO of Inner Peace Life Development Co.I am excited to announce that Independent Bank - Laurelwood Branch where Robin Winsett is the Vice President has partnered with us to be the Supporting Sponsor for our first ever financial fitness series for women. There is no time like the present to "whip your money into shape." If you follow the plan of action outlined during this series, you will definitely see improvements. The series is designed for you to participate in all 5 sessions. However, if you're unable to do so, you can register for the sessions that you are availabe to attend. We have updated the attached flyer which includes a brief overview of the content by session. Grab a girlfriend, relative or colleague and both of you register TODAY! We need 5 Mock Interview facilitators for each of the time slots listed below:
In addition to mock interview facilitators, we need help with the volunteer roles listed below: PERSONAL SHOPPERS (5-8) - Volunteers can work one-on-one with a Dress for Success client to help her select her professional attire and to provide support and encouragement as she prepares for her interviews. Once a woman becomes employed, she returns to Dress for Success for additional clothing to help her build a working wardrobe. Volunteers assist with this second visit as well, ensuring that women choose items that can be mixed and matched to create several outfits appropriate for the workplace. Personal shopping is an enjoyable and rewarding way to boost women's confidence and make a direct impact on our clients lives. GREETERS (2)- Greets and direct the clients to assign rooms and sessions. LOGISITICS (1)– Making sure all equipment is working and set properly. GROUP LEADERS – Assigned to client groups to make sure that participants properly transition throughout day to their assigned sessions. |
